Life After Steel

Nigel Hunt is a father of four living in Port Talbot, South Wales. Along with 700 others, he was unfairly dismissed after the closure of a local steelworks factory.

This short film paints the portrait of the struggles of an industrial worker whose career and source of income folded overnight. We see scenes of a Save our Steel protest, and the fight of others to keep their jobs, under threat of another wave of dismissals. It reveals the injustice workers face in efforts to create cleaner industries in the UK.
