What role does comedy have to play in raising awareness of environmental issues like air pollution? Dhuwa was co-produced by MaHa Sandra, an orgnisation formed by Madan Krishna Shrestha and Hari Bamsha Acharya, a respected and well-known comedy duo in Nepal.
This telefilm is narrated by two computer-generated birds, who bear witness to the affects of air pollution in non-human and human beings in Nepal. The film shows us the reach of air pollution, travelling from abroad and reaching the highest peaks of the Himalayas.
The film was produced by CCAC partners, the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) and Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies (IASS), to address Nepal's deteriorating air quality in Nepal and to raise awareness as part of a joint initiative called Sustainable Atmosphere for the Kathmandu Valley (SusKat).
